EPAK is an all-volunteer organization which provides micro grants of up to $600 twice a year to classroom teachers of children in East Palo Alto, CA. EPAK also works with partners of volunteers and foundations to enact projects that significantly impact the learning environment grade-wide or benefitting an entire school. In doing so EPAK is able to get funds in use in the classroom in the most direct and immediate way possible. Additional Facts: * Serves approximately 4,500 students from 13 schools in EPA. * Supports quality educational experiences through a variety of grants for literacy, science learning materials, math enrichment, musical instruments, computer-building components, field trips, physical education, and more. * Awards grants to teachers through a selective application process. All classroom teachers in Ravenswood district and charter schools are eligible to apply. * Is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, comprising retired and active Ravenswood teachers, administrators and members of the broad Silicon Valley community dedicated to providing quality education for all students. * Addresses the serious educational funding gap that compromises our students' education, and its efforts have direct, tangible, and immediate impact.
