Centennial United Methodist Church

Centennial United Methodist Church (CUMC) is one church, two campuses, in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. committed to creating authentic, thinking active followers of Jesus Christ. 

With open hearts and minds, CUMC is a Reconciling Congregation where it is believed that God welcomes all people. CUMC values diversity and recognizes the sacred worth of each person, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental ability, economic means, marital status, education, or faith story.

CUMC is known as a welcoming, supportive place for ALL throughout the local, state, national and worldwide communities because of the Christ-focused outreach and actions taken by the congregation within and outside the church walls. CUMC has strong traditions of outreach and missions, and of excellence in music in its worship services. CUMC's children’s education program is innovative and engages both the child and their families and offers a unique experience in its children’s summer theatre program (which is open to all children in the area).

CUMC has a history of social justice and community service ministries as its members strive to be the “hands and feet of Christ” within the world. Church members are very involved in a variety of active, creative and productive groups and initiatives that have significant impact on the community. Through the leadership, participation and commitment of its members, CUMC promotes healthy communities, positive life experiences, personal empowerment, social justice and equality, and supportive and compassionate care of others. It is the mission of CUMC to “go out and build loving and just communities” and, through group and individual activities, its members work to do this. Examples of the groups affiliated with CUMC include the Holy Hammers Chapter of Habitat for Humanity (of which Centennial was a founding church), Keystone Community Services and Every Meal (addressing food insecurity), Emma Norton Services (supporting women and children in transition),Sierra Leone Mission (a fresh water and education initiative in Africa), Alternative High School support team (mentoring and supporting students), Ronald McDonald House (providing meals to children being cared for at hospitals and their families), Fairview Refugee Program (teaching skills and providing companionship to individuals new to America) and Walker Methodist Health Center (supporting residents at a care facility).
