Mweva Centre for Information Technology Development Initative

Mweva Centre for Information Technology Development Initiative (MCITEDI) is a Non-Government Organisation based in Jinja, Uganda.

We provide free IT education to the marginalized and underprivilaged youths in rural parts of Jinja district. We teach young people Computer programming, apps development and web design skills.

The number of youth unemployment is all time high especially in rural areas the district, the number of school drop out is growing high by the day and there is a shortage of vocational institutions in rural areas.

An intervention strategy is needed to uplift the standard of living for the youngsters living in rural areas. MCITEDI answered the call by launching ICT4D programs in training apps developers, computer programmers, web designers and working with youths in creating jobs to boost the local community.

Computer programming involves teaching Java, apps development, JavaScript etc. to the youths.

In Web design we teach youths CSS, HTML and other web authoring tools.

We teach entrepreneurship skills to the youths, this empower them to create jobs instead of being job seekers.
