Many of today's problems, including food shortages, unsanitary water supplies, energy shortages and prices, species extinction, habitat fragmentation, many wars and social conflicts, traffic, urban congestion (and more) are driven by our enormous population size. And population is still increasing by 70-80 million each year (despite what some people seem to think)

We believe that population growth is a choice, not an irresistible force of Nature.

It is affected by five factors: better education and jobs for women, widespread availability of birth control, changing social expectations about families, awareness of the consequences to our environment and to our descendants, and by economic realities.

To really affect today's environmental and social problems, we need to make the sustainable choice of deciding our best population size, regionally and globally, and supporting the steps that will take us there.

Our mission is to help this happen.
