There are many people in crisis in the poverty-stricken pockets of the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Homelessness, unemployment, poverty, and health concerns are growing issues that directly affect the inner city population. An increasing number of low-income working families are struggling just to make ends meet. UUM has been a consistent and vital food provider in the city for the past two years. We provide this diverse population of men, women, and children with on-site supportive services to fight hunger. To our knowledge, there are very few organizations within the city that provide mobile food distribution six days per week to the thirty thousand homeless members of the community in Atlanta.
