Transformers Mathare

Our Community-based organization is officially established and registered with the Ministry of Gender Sports, Culture and Social Services in 2019. The project dreams of a Nairobi free of slums where its citizens are given equal opportunities and where poverty becomes an issue of the past. In order to design such an ideal future, the organization is currently working in the field by empowering women and youth which are to be considered the driving force of the change.

Our current projects:

Tailoring training project(Women Empowerment) ongoing for women living in Mathare slums to enable them to become more independent and support themselves and their families.

Advocacy for HIV-AIDS women. We visit women in families to support and counsel them. Our main focus is to erase the stigma around HIV/AIDS, which hinders the affected person from living a proactive social life.

Among these current projects, we are wishing to expand, make our community bigger and help even more people in Mathare slum. That's why with excitement we are looking for people who would be able to help, bring new ideas to our community so we can work together, share experiences and grow together.
