GLSEN Arizona

GLSEN Arizona believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. We are a local chapter of a national network of educators and students working to make this right a reality.

​Our research and experience has shown that there are four major ways that schools can cultivate a safe and supportive environment for all of their students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression: supportive educators, comprehensive policies, inclusive curriculum, and Gender Sexuality Alliances (GSAs).

​At GLSEN Arizona, we work to train, organize and empower school communities by:

• supporting students through GSAs, student events, and our SHINE leadership development program;
• providing educators with professional development opportunities and networking;
• providing inclusive curriculum and library resources;
• and advocating for policies that protect LGBTQ+ students and against those that would hurt them.
