    The museum is located in the 1846 Robbins & Lawrence Armory, a National Historic Landmark, in Windsor VT. Exhibits are open Memorial Day weekend through October. The permanent exhibit, Shaping America, tells the story of the ongoing impact of manufacturing in American society and culture. Education programs are based on

    We are creating a comprehensive and sustainable K-16 education program to provide students at all levels with pre-engineering challenges and pre-manufacturing experiences. Core values are to inspire design, innovation, and problem solving and emphasize creativity and collaboration.

    The Working Machine Shop is the centerpiece of our exhibits and education programs. Each year we recruit, train and hire high school student interns to provide demonstrations for visitors using historic machines and increasingly, modern machinery to show CNC technology, robotics, and 3D printing. The program is universally popular with all kinds of visitors. Our interns hone their work readiness and communication skills, and explore manufacturing careers.
