East Bay Community Solar Project

EBCSP is a one-time, non-profit project that aims to help facilitate the transition to solar for residents and businesses in the East Bay. We are using the proven "Solarize" model to acheive this end. This means that we have organized a committee of community members who are thinking of going solar themselves to review bids from 5 different solar companies to provide solar installations to participants at a bulk-discounted rate. As a result, participants will be able to spare themselves the hassle of selecting a contractor, as well as get a bulk discount, often worth several thousand dollars, on top.

The committee has selected a contractor and now we are beginning the outreach phase of the project. This means using all means at our disposal to get the word out so that people can sign up. This will entail tapping into community networks, getting articles in local newspapers, and leafleting.
