INTO THE WOODS is an outdoor education and ethics program created in partnership with the Sierra Club’s ‘Building Bridges to the Outdoors’ project and aims to further its stated goal of “giving every child in America an outdoor experience... leave no child inside”. It has been created for 6-8th grade inner city youth that have limited access to nature and may be unaware of green spaces in their own community. We provide a safe, fun and supportive environment for our students to explore the natural world and their relationship to it. We believe the outdoors is an ideal place to model and teach important life skills and core values such as leadership, teamwork, integrity and stewardship. Becoming an adult with a connection to nature is a birthright not a privelege.
