Groundswell NW is a 501c(3) non-profit that empowers NW Seattle to create, activate and care for parks, open space and habitat.
Historically, the greater Ballard area has been under-served by open space and is expected only to grow and gain density for years to come. For more than twenty years, Groundswell NW, an all volunteer-run 501c(3) non profit organization, has been guided by the vision that no child should have to cross a major street in order to get to a park or open space.
Groundswell NW empowers citizens to build and care for local parks and habitat and serves as a voice for the community on city planning, land use decisions, and funding for parks, open space and habitat.
