Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio

Powered by attorney volunteers, Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio (PBPO) strengthens our community by providing free business legal services and education to nonprofits.

In 2015, a passionate group of corporate lawyers in Cincinnati saw the nonprofit community struggling to afford the business legal services needed to keep their organizations strong. They came together to find a solution, and PBPO was founded to directly assist and educate 501(c)(3) nonprofits on a wide range of non-litigation business and transactional legal services.

PBPO’s programs include direct legal services for nonprofits in the areas of employment, contracts, governance, intellectual property, real estate, COVID-19, and more, for 260+ qualifying nonprofit clients in Cincinnati and Dayton; legal education workshops and webinars for nonprofits in Ohio; and educational publications available for any nonprofit leader available on PBPO’s website. 

Since 2015, PBPO volunteers have generously donated their expertise, handling nearly 1,750 unique matters for our nonprofit clients. This enabled us to serve more than 260 local nonprofit agencies, with an estimated legal fees savings valued at over $3.5 million.
