At its core a liberal arts institution, LIU Post is dedicated to meeting the needs and expanding the horizons of all our students, whether in the arts and sciences, or professional schools or through life-long learning. We at LIU Post are committed to providing highly individualized educational experiences in every department and program from the freshman year through advanced doctoral research in selected areas. The emphasis on the student learner is evident; in our faculty’s devotion to excellence in teaching, our intensive advisement system, and our encouragement of experiential learning through cooperative education, internships, practica, community service, study abroad, research projects, and artistic performance. Our students benefit as well from the Campus’s participation in one of the nation’s largest private university systems, and from our ability to draw on the unparalleled cultural and professional resources of New York City and Long Island.
