Sobre Nós

Socio-Economic Development Center for Southeast Asians (SEDC) was formed in 1987 when associations serving Rhode Island’s Cambodian, Laotian, Hmong and Vietnamese communities united as a coalition to insure the provision of culturally appropriate services to their communities. In 1988 SEDC was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the State of Rhode Island with headquarters in Providence and more recently opened a satellite office in Woonsocket. Our mission is to: Promote the evolution of healthy and productive citizens among people with roots in Southeast Asia by facilitating their transition to life in America while cultivating their Asian heritage. Our programs support community and economic development, community problem-solving, family harmony, and community well-being.
