At Operation Groundswell, we are dedicated to providing high-value, intimate, immersive, and educational travel experiences that positively affect the lives of our program participants and the communities we visit. We want to encourage the next generation of leaders to act locally while thinking globally by facilitating financially accessible group-focused experiences that blend ethical travel, guided exploration, educational programming, local immersion, and adventure.

Operation Groundswell was founded on the principle of accessibility. As a registered non-profit organization our bottom line is people, not profits. That’s why our program fees are 35% less than our closest competitors. More than that, OG commits a significant portion of its revenues towards needs-based bursaries and fundraising support to those that need it. Combined with custom programs, Operation Groundswell is dedicated to making high-quality ethical travel as financially accessible as possible.

GUIDED EXPLORATION

OGHQ works with local personnel and partners to develop a thoughtful itinerary for every day of travel with Operation Groundswell. Treks to remote mountain lakes, urban bike tours, reflective boat rides, meetings with local advocacy groups, delicious local cuisine… every day is thoughtfully designed and expertly delivered so that participants can get the most out of their experience. Critical to our success are wholly integrated programs with guided exploration.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING

With a passionate and innovative team of Program Leaders scattered around the world and a carefully crafted core curriculum, Operation Groundswell takes experiential learning to a whole new level. Participants have the opportunity to meet with activists, business leaders, NGOs, politicians, and everyone in between. Groups learn firsthand through storytelling, question and answer, and critical dialogue facilitated by our exceptional Program Leaders.

LOCAL IMMERSION

Our programs are intentionally designed to examine the complexities and lived realities in the regions we go to. As a grassroots organization, we have the unique opportunity (and privilege) to work with a wide variety of different partners, each with their own perspectives and approaches. So, Operation Groundswell does not have to rely on unidirectional presentations. Instead, we’re able to initiate and help facilitate multidirectional dialogue between participants, local partners, and host communities allowing for a more immersive experience.

Our small group-focused programs allow for the perfect blend of flexibility, intimacy, support, and fun. Our programs excel at creating safe spaces in new and different regions. Together, we can engage lots of different perspectives, learn about each other, reflect on ourselves, and create a shared experience beyond compare.
