UCLA MPH for Health Professionals

UCLA's Master of Public Health for Health Professionals (MPH | HP) Program in Community Health Sciences is designed for working professionals seeking to attain leadership positions in public health while maintaining a full-time career.

Students come with diverse academic and professional backgrounds, yet share a similar goal to gain skills and credentials that will enable them to expand their scope of professional expertise. Recognizing competing interests such as family and career, this program's alternative schedule features the same curriculum that has made the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health an internationally recognized leader in public health. The program caters to working professionals by providing a convenient schedule of classes that introduces the principles, theories, and methods of public health with an emphasis on program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Through this highly cost-effective program, students are able to maintain their full-time working schedule and professional income. Combining in-class sessions and distance learning education, the 21-month program is intended to be fast-paced and demanding. The goal is to create a student-centered and supportive environment that produces unlimited opportunities for career success.

• Intensive format includes monthly three-day sessions beginning Friday morning and ending Sunday afternoon

Applicants are expected to fulfill the minimum requirements for admission to the Fielding School of Public Health. In addition, the applicant should have three years of professional experience or its full-time equivalent in a public health or health-related field.
