CALIFORNIA FOR L'AQUILA EARTHQUAKE FUND

In response to the Earthquake in L’Aquila, Italy on April 6th, 2009 a new non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California was created with the exclusive purpose of raising funds and greater awareness for the city and victims of L'Aquila. California has a long history of tremors and earthquakes similar to L’Aquila. Residents of the state genuinely understand what the people of L’Aquila are experiencing; fear, loss, confusion, and sorrow. Yet, they are unsure on how to help. CA For L’Aquila’s goal is to be the gateway in filling that void. - Not an art exhibition in the conventional sense, it will be partly testimonial, partly an avenue to contribute, and partly the creation of a new bond between California and L’Aquila, both prone to devastating Earthquakes. California For L’Aquila’s mission is to raise resources through a multi city photographic exhibit of the L’Aquila Earthquake and its aftermath.
