Mission Statement

North Brooklyn Parks Alliance (NBPA) works with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, elected officials, and our community to maintain, activate, enhance, and expand parks and public spaces in North Brooklyn.

Core Values

NBPA believes in the following:

• safe and well maintained parks
• parks that balance opportunities for active and passive recreation and leisure
• stewardship of all greenery, which is essential to the health and beauty of North Brooklyn
• balanced distribution of resources throughout Community Board 1
• organizational transparency, sustainability, and efficiency
• community engagement, which is integral to park improvements in North Brooklyn
• hosting forums in which park users can share information and advocate for their parks
• volunteering and partnering with local groups, which is important to the health of parks in our community
• additional park space must be created at any opportunity
