“We who are privileged to be in these chambers today can view the challenges we face as opportunities, not as reasons for despair. We can do this only if we blend our independent spirits in terms of reverence for the life and respect for nature. Each of you might suggest different words, but our goal certainly is the same: a better Oregon.” Tom McCall’s inaugural message to the 1971 Oregon Legislature.

The McCall PAC is a progressive grassroots movement giving Oregonians a voice and independent leaders a platform for a better Oregon, exclusive of special interests and Salem lobbyists.

We are an independent non-connected political action committee that promotes the principles adhered to by Oregon’s greatest governor, Tom McCall, who presided over the state during a period of unparalleled achievements. These principles are:

1. Maximum citizen participation in the political process
2. Ethics, openness, and transparency in government
3. Government promoting job creation for Oregonians, not hindering it
4. Working for clean environmental quality for all Oregonians

During the McCall era, Oregonians worked together, not against each other, in developing solutions to critical problems. We believe such a climate can, once again, exist.
