ImageMagica is a Brazilian NGO that works with photography as a tool for social transformation. We develop projects in hospitals and schools and, besides that, we run photo documentaries in Brazil and in the world. The photographer André François, founder of ImageMagica, is involved in photographing health since 2006, and in Brazil, we have already published 4 books about it.
Since 2008, we develop a worldwide health project, named Life Project (www.imagemagica.org/lifeproject), that intends to discuss health issues, health promotion and quality of life in different countries. Life Project is a long-term project. We have already been to Cambodia, Haiti, United States, Japan, South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, among others, establishing partnerships with organizations such as the United Nations (we are affiliated to them), PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) and Doctors Without Borders.
