Sobre Nós

Ingwe - Leopard Research is monitoring the behaviour and density of leopards in Mpumalanga province of South Africa.

Due to increasing human conflict issues it is important to study the density and behaviour of leopards, which is an area of research that currently lacks quantifiable data. This data is collated and made available to universities and the provincial authorities to assist in the development of wildlife management policies and legislation.

The majority of the Ingwe research is conducted in the areas around Lydenburg, and in particular the Thaba Tholo Wilderness Reserve, where we have our research base.

Ingwe - monitors all evidence of Leopard in defined research areas, via camera trapping, spoor and scat analyse and the intention is to expand the use of GPS tracking systems in order to study their movements via the least invasive methods.
