Animal Law Reform South Africa

ALRSA envisages a society and legal system that adequately protects both humans and nonhuman animals.

We utilise three core focus areas (i) Legislative & Policy Reform; (ii) Litigation and Legal Services; and (iii) Education & Research to advance our goal. Our goal is a South African society whose people, laws and courts advance and uphold the protection and well-being of human and non-human animals.

Our work is premised on three interrelated pillars: A) the well-being of nonhuman animals; B) the rule of law; C) and the attainment of a socially just society for all its inhabitants.
