30,000 Feet

The mission of 30,000 feet is to provide creative learning experiences and tech apprenticeships to youth. To create space where youth can be their authentic selves.

We’ve recently opened a brand-new space and are excited to engage more youth in the Saint Paul community. While we welcome all young people ages 14–18, our mission is centered on empowering African American students through culture, art, technology, and social justice.

We are currently accepting applications for our summer paid internship program, Tech Geeks, where students will learn beginner coding skills. Applications will remain open through July.

In addition, we are encouraging youth to take advantage of our drop-in Best Buy Teen Tech Center, which is free and open Monday through Friday from 2:00–6:00 p.m. Students have access to a variety of state-of-the-art resources, including:

• Recording studio
• 3D printers
• Podcasting tools
• Wacom tablets for digital art

We also offer several ongoing programs and events:

• Monthly Family Nights: Themed events for youth and their families (food provided)
• Talk It Out Tuesdays: Bi-weekly wellness workshops focused on mental health and overall well-being (next session: April 14, 3:30–5:30 p.m.)
• College and Career Readiness: Bi-weekly workshops on Thursdays focusing on resume building, interviewing, and college and career navigation. (Next session: April 23rd, 3:30-5:30pm)
• One-on-One Wellness Check-Ins: Available for registered youth
• Creative Spaces: Dance studio and art studio available for drop-in use
• Study Hall: We are specifically looking for volunteers who would be open to help tutor youth once a week. On Tuesday and/or Thursday.
