Sandburg Elementary School's Afterschool Academic Centers for Excellence (AACE) program is a daily afterschool program intended to help students succeed as they become literate in both Spanish and English. The participants in the program are students who are referred because they are behind grade level in either math, literacy or both.
In our program, it is outside of our means for staff to consistently tutor students on a one-to-one basis. As such, we are hoping to recruit volunteers to come in and work with students induvidually during the academic hour of program.
Our program hours are:
Mondays- 1:45-5:30pm
Tuesdays-Fridays-- 3:17-5:30pm
Volunteers are required to complete an MSCR application and criminal history disclosure statement, available online at: http://www.mscr.org/Volunteer-Application.cfm
Interested volunteers should contact John Idlas either by phone at (608-622-8740) or by email at jidlas@madison.k12.wi.us for more information.
