  • Sobre Nós

Founded in 1976, The Open Space Institute (OSI) is a non-profit land conservation organization dedicated to preserving land that is historically, environmentally, recreationally or agriculturally significant. OSI has preserved approximately 100,000 acres of land throughout New York State with particular focus on the Hudson River Valley, the landscapes of the Hudson Highlands, Shawangunks, Catskills, Helderbergs and Adirondacks. From pursuing threatened agricultural lands to creating small pocket parks, OSI helps to maintain the State's historic heritage, economic well-being, and ecological health. As well, OSI enhances already existent recreational opportunities, and acquires key links connecting protected lands, to ensure that fragmentation and sprawl do not prevail adjacent to parkland.
