  • Sobre Nós

Asia Art Archive's mission is to act as a catalyst for new ideas that enrich our understanding of the world through the collection, creation, and sharing of knowledge around recent art in and of Asia. Asia Art Archive in America (AAAinA), founded in 2009, is an independently established and operated U.S. 501(c)3 and the first overseas mini hub of Asia Art Archive (AAA) in Hong Kong. By collecting, preserving, and making accessible information on contemporary art from and of Asia, AAAinA facilitates public understanding and specialized research, instigates dialogue and critical thinking in the field.

To achieve our mission, AAAinA maintains a reading room in Brooklyn Heights and has an active schedule of programming. The reading room is open to the public free of charge and comprises over 5,000 monographs, exhibition catalogs, reference books, periodicals about contemporary art from and of Asia, which includes Asian Americans and the diaspora. The reading room also serves as an onsite access point to over 82,000 digitized records of primary source material from AAA's archival research collection. With over 14 years of programming, AAAinA regularly organizes talks, screenings, workshops, participatory projects, performances, and panels with artists, curators, critics and scholars. With a focus on recent art in and of Asia, AAAinA provides a platform for the underrepresented work of artists from Asia and the Asian diaspora to enrich and give nuance to Asian, American and global art history.
