OneProsper International

OneProsper International is a new Canadian registered charity; focussed on improving the productivity of smallholder farmers in India.

Water scarcity is the key impediment to increasing the productivity of agriculture in India. To that end, we provide smallholder farmers with drip irrigation kits; enabling them to significantly increase crop yields and incomes.

In January 2011, we started a five month drip irrigation project in partnership with Bala Vikasa Social Service Society (www.balavikasa.org), a local NGO that works with smallholder farmer cooperatives in Andhra Pradesh, India.

Twenty smallholder farmer beneficiaries from two disadvantaged groups (scheduled caste, backward class) received drip irrigation kits.

The crops that are being cultivated are chilli, tomato, lady finger, bottle gourd, carrot and other vegetables. Our project is being implemented in Warangal, AP which is ideally suited for drip irrigation given its semi-arid climate.
