WelcomeNST harnesses the power of the community to offer refuge to refugee families. Born in the throws of the Afghan evacuation in 2021, WelcomeNST has engaged over 4000 American families across the U.S. to welcome 800 refugees from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Haiti, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and Guatemala and raise $3M for the families they have welcomed. Most recently, WelcomeNST was named as a go-to organization by the State Department for the Welcome Corps and is now welcoming refugees from around the world.Today, there are more legal pathways open for American citizens to offer refuge to refugee families in danger than ever before. In short, this is the greatest democratization of refugee resettlement in American history - coupled with an unprecedented global refugee crisis. As such, we are committed to doubling down, accelerating and multiplying our efforts to engage more neighbors to offer refuge to more families in danger than ever before. There is no time to waste. What is a Neighborhood Support Team (NST)?

An NST is a group of Americans who come together to welcome one refugee family to the United States and walk with them from new arrival to self-sufficiency over a period of 6-12 months. Many NSTs come from all over the country in a shared effort to serve and lift and succor those who are suffering.

Forming an NST includes:

• Engaging broad community support
• Organizing your team into committees
• Raising money for the family you welcome
• Finding housing in your neighborhood

You're never in this alone. Every NST-in-formation is assigned a personal coach who's sole focus is to mentor you through the process of preparing to welcome a refugee family. To get started, just raise your hand and fill out the Interest Form so we know you’re there and we will reach out!
