Protect Our Rights

The Protect Our Rights Campaign is a ballot initiative to protect abortion rights in the Nebraska State Constitution.

Project Coalition Partners (In Progress) - ACLU-NE, I Be Black Girl, Women’s Fund of Omaha, Nebraska Appleseed, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Nebraska, She’s Electable, Nebraska Abortion Resources, and the Nebraska Civic Engagement Table, and The Fairness Project. 

Reproductive health advocates in-state and nationally have joined together to stand up to politicians and restore and protect abortion rights in Nebraska via ballot initiative. The vast majority of Nebraskans–across parties and across geographies–believe that individuals and families, not the government, should be in charge of private healthcare decisions like abortion. The shared goal of this work is to restore abortion access while building a movement for reproductive rights that centers and defends those most impacted by abortion bans, like the abortion ban passed last year by Nebraska state legislators.
