Sobre Nós

Families International Inc., a not-for-profit membership organization, is the tie that binds together four organizations that work closely with one another, yet remain separate entities. This unique situation has proven to be successful for each company and beneficial to the children, families, and communities they serve. Families International oversees the governance, management and finances of FEI Behavioral Health, the Alliance for Children and Families, Ways to Work, Inc. and the United Neighborhood Centers of America, Inc. (UNCA).

Families International Inc. consists of approximately 450 community-based mental health and residential centers combining for approximately $5 billion of service delivery nationwide.

At the Alliance for Children & Families, our mission is to strengthen the capacities of North America's nonprofit child and family service organizations to serve and to advocate for children, families, and communities.

The Alliance for Children and Families is the nation’s largest association of private nonprofit human service organizations. Its nearly 350 members annually serve more than 3.5 million children and families. Member operating budgets total more than $3.8 billion and they employ more that 53,000 full-time staff. The Alliance’s mission is to build the capacities of North America’s nonprofit child- and family-serving organizations to serve and advocate for children, families, and communities.

The Ways to Work program, a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), provides small loans to low-income families to help them buy or repair a car that will allow them to keep a job or stay in school. The national office of Ways to Work helps secure loan capital for local Ways to Work programs through banks and the federal government. Since 1984, Ways to Work and its predecessor organization have assisted more than 21,000 families with more than $30 million in loans.

United Neighborhood Centers of America, Inc. (UNCA) is a voluntary, nonprofit, national organization with neighborhood-based member agencies throughout the United States. It was founded in 1911 by Jane Addams and other pioneers of the settlement house movement. UNCA’s original and continuing purpose is to improve the quality of life at the neighborhood level and work in partnership with neighborhood centers to find solutions to social problems which hinder individual self-development and prevent productive community life.
