TRDP - Thardeep Rural Development Programme

Our mission is "enlarging the choices of people with equality & justice". Objectives - to develop & promote human resource cadre with expertise in the areas pertaining to the betterment of human lives. - to engender the structure and programme of Thardeep and thereby promote a process of gender awareness among the organs of civil society. -to strive for water security in aridzones of Sindh Pakistan - to contribute in emergency operations and develop long term strategies for copping uo emergencies effectively. TRDP has re-organized itself for a more participatory and people-centered development programme in arid zones of Sindh , through a carefully adopted new programme approach of Community Mobilization and Capacity Building. The programme now clearly focuses on the empowerment of communities through a gradual process of dialogue and organizing of villages and paras (hamlets) around issues of community concern, leading to community- centered decision- making and problem solving mechanisms with the potential of emerging as local institutions with a voice in governance. The capacity of these paras (hamlet of a geographical proximity) Based Organizations (Para Development Committees) is developed for enabling them to identify the causes of the problems faced by them and to seek solutions based on a recognition of, and optimal exploitation of local resources.
