Outer Banks Sporting Events

Outer Banks Sporting Events (OBSE) is a 501c3 non-profit corporation that executes sporting events in order to donate 100% of its net proceeds to the Dare Education Foundation (working to maximize student potential by providing resources to students and teachers in Dare County schools) and the Outer Banks Relief Foundation (providing financial assistance to families in crisis). The mission of OBSE is to organize and promote sports competition and healthy lifestyle choices and provide financial support for needed relief and public education while contributing to the economic health of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We currently produce 5 events each year, the Kelly Hospitality Group’s Running of the Leprechauns 5K & 10K, the Wells Fargo Flying Pirate Half Marathon, Storm The Beach obstacle course race, the Outer Banks TRI, and the TowneBank Outer Banks Marathon. Our annual budget is approx. $900,000.
