Bark is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the forests, waters, and wildlife of Mt. Hood National Forest. Through on-the-ground monitoring, education, and outreach, Bark works to ensure that public forests are managed in the public interest. Bark is helping shift public lands management away from harvesting timber to restoring our public watersheds and wildlands.
Central to Bark’s philosophy is citizen engagement, which Bark promotes by actively involving the public in monitoring and challenging federal timber sales to ensure compliance with current environmental laws.
