The Reinvent Stockton Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2017 that aims to improve the quality of life for the residents of Stockton, California, and to recreate our city into a community of opportunity and hope. Inspired by best practices from around the country but rooted in a analysis of Stockton’s unique context, the Reinvent Stockton Foundation works to invest in holistic education programming for young people in this city of approximately 300,000 people. In 2018, we formally launched programming with the announcement of the Stockton Scholars, a program to dramatically increase the number of Stockton students who enter and complete higher education in the next ten years. More broadly, we aim to fund initiatives designed to reinvest in marginalized schools, neighborhoods, and communities through leveraging outside investment and building philanthropic support for social justice initiatives in our city.
