Yes on B: Support San Jose Libraries 2014

  • Sobre Nós

On June 3, San Jose voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot for Measure B which will continue existing, voter-approved funding for all San Jose’s libraries, with no increase in tax rates. Of SJPL’s total annual budget of more than $37 million, the library parcel tax comprised of more than $8 million, funding a substantial portion of new books and media, building operations, public technology, and 53 FTE staff. Passage of Measure B also prevents neighborhood libraries from closing, prevents elimination of children’s reading programs, and maintains existing library days of operation, which stand at only 4 days a week for many branches.
