Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa (Canada)

Citizen Advocacy's vision is of a community that welcomes and values the participation and contribution of all its citizens, including those living with disabilities.

Citizen Advocacy sets up a match between a volunteer (advocate) and a person living with a disability (protégé) to participate in weekly activities they enjoy doing together. The volunteer advocates may also offer companionship and assistance in a variety of issues. As a result, the people supported are less alone, feel better about themselves and are less vulnerable.

Citizen Advocacy is one of the few Ottawa agencies supporting people of all ages across the disability spectru, including physical limitations, intellectual disability, mental illness and disabilities related to age.
