Building a movement of teacher leaders who re-imagine classrooms as empowering spaces where children learn well and also get equipped with skills to become responsible citizens.

About F&F

Foster & Forge Foundation was established in 2015 with the belief that every child has the potential to positively impact their environment & contribute meaningfully to the growth of the country. What they need is the opportunity to explore their potential to build their capabilities and role models to inspire and show them the way. This is where the teachers step in, playing a revolutionary role in not only accelerating learning but also building Active Citizens. Foster and Forge is a part of the larger whole-child movement that has been advocated for by the NEP 2020.

We run a 2 year fellowship program for India’s largest teacher community–government school teachers. Enabling them to consistently reimagine their classrooms through effective pedagogy and problem solving skills and in turn emerge as teacher leaders who empower their students to take charge of their future as active citizens.

Foster & Forge Foundation has been working with government schools in Uttar Pradesh for 8 years. We are now in the process of envisioning working closely with local governments as trusted partners. In the next 2 years, our impact could look like strategically chosen demonstration sites where we codify and mainstream practices for the government as we expand to new states like Haryana and Uttarakhand.

We need to awaken within our children the power of their own potential to enhance their life, income, role, and participation in society: At Foster & Forge, we build on the universal belief that teachers are a pivotal force in creating lasting impact in the lives of their students. They are our levers of change - the assets we deeply invest in. We empower teachers to become leaders who apply the process of school education towards bolstering life skills in students and transforming the very foundation of the Indian Public Education System.

FNF is part of a larger movement in education to move beyond foundational literacy and numeracy by enabling teachers to equip students with the skills and mindsets needed to succeed in life.

The fellowship design helps teachers learn the Design thinking approach & teaching tool FLUX* and practices that encourage children to discover their own strengths, build empathy and become problem solvers.

Mentoring support enables them to become catalysts of change in their school system and their communities.

By becoming a trusted partner of the local government and working closely with all stakeholders in the school education delivery value chain, i.e., state officials, district and block level officials, schools and parents, Foster and Forge hopes to inculcate FLUX design approaches across teaching in the school and integrate it into the everyday syllabus and curriculum plan at the state level.
