Sobre Nós

The International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) Group site at Children's National Medical Center (Children's National) conducts clinical trials related to pediatric HIV disease. We are a clinical site for the NIH-funded IMPAACT Group, an international organization of pediatric HIV scientists and clinicians whose mission is to decrease significantly the mortality and morbidity associated with HIV disease in children, adolescents, and pregnant women. Historically, IMPAACT and its predecessors have been responsible for some of the major advances in pediatric HIV, such as helping to develop new drugs for HIV-infected children and finding ways to significantly decrease the risk that a baby born to an HIV infected mother will be infected with HIV. Children's National, based in Washington DC, has for more than 140 years been at the forefront in developing new treatments for childhood illnesses.
