Public Policy Productions has produced 33 documentaries for national public television. Over the past three decades these documentaries have won over 150 awards including Peabody, Emmy, and duPont-Columbia awards, as well as two Academy Award nominations. Currently, we are releasing BROKEN PLACES, a feature documentary about why some children are permanently damaged by early adversity while others are able to thrive. Our recent production, FIRST DEGREE, which premiered on PBS in June 2017, investigates a college behind bars that prevents released inmates from returning to prison. Another recent production, DREAM ON, which premiered on PBS in October 2016, featured a political comedian on a road trip in search of the vanishing American Dream.
