CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County provdes and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused and neglected child can have the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing, permanent home.
Since 1991, this private non-profit agency, CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County, has been training community volunteers to be a powerful voice for children of abuse and neglect in this county. CASA's role in the community is a critical one. CASA Court Advocates serve as the eyes and ears of the judge in court proceedings involving abused and neglected children. These dedicated men and women fact find, gather inormation, interview all parties involved, look for possible relative placement, but most importantly, they develop a relationship with the child involved. In 2012, 639 children and their families have been served by this program. In 2012 we had 171 active Advocates, and we served 83% of the children who came into the court system because of abuse or neglect.
