Missão
KindWorks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a kinder world by organizing people to serve our community. Our ever-growing network of volunteers of all ages engage in meaningful activities to provide critical support for a broad range of needs throughout the DC metro area … and beyond!
Sobre Nós
Current projects include
- delivering meals to community members experiencing food and/or housing insecurity through our partnerships with senior centers, women’s shelters, food distribution sites, and more
- cooking meals together-mostly online but increasingly in person-to help supply some of those meal deliveries as well as other needs
- furnishing apartments for legal refugees and others having to start over, leaving the new residents a welcome meal and cupboard full of groceries
- refurbishing computers for students, families, and emerging community initiatives in need of reliable digital tools
As KindWorkers deliver these services, we acknowledge the humanity of those who currently face obstacles. Through this process, we aim to help build a more aware, compassionate, supportive, and equitable community in which all can thrive.
