Japan Week @ Bellevue College

Our mission is to expose our students and the wider Bellevue College community to multiple facets of Japanese culture. The objectives include: § exposing BC students to a variety of Japanese cultural aspects – not just what is seen in movies and TV. § Involving students in topics in more depth or in a more interactive manner than what can be easily achieved in a classroom environment. § Providing a forum for the presentation and practice of Japanese art forms presented by traditional artists and artisans. § Encouraging wider participation in and appreciation of the Arts and Crafts of Japan. § Providing a “Japanese Style” community event where students can meet and mingle with citizens of Japan living in the area as expatriates. § Improving personal and community relationships through a better understanding of Japan’s rich culture. Marketing, Event Planning and Communication skills are developed.
