Profound Gentlemen

Mission: Our mission is to build communities of male educators of color who offer a profound additional impact on boys of color.

Vision: Our vision is to retain education leaders who dismantle the cradle to prison pipeline by establishing a cradle to career pipeline for boys of color.

Strategy: Our strategy is to utilize trained, seasoned male educators of color who serve as peer mentors for our Gentlemen called Impact Leaders. Impact Leaders guide Gentlemen on a professional development track to build their impact and leadership.

Our Work: Through informal interviews and an examination of research studies, there are four reasons male students of color do not complete education programs: (1) feelings of isolation, (2) lack of cultural relevance in the curriculum, (3) failed teacher standardized test/praxis, and (4) no relationship with their professors/lack of student mentors. Since 2015, PG has made strides on dismantling this narrative through its program model.
