The Playwrights Realm

The Playwrights Realm is an Off-Broadway theatre company founded in 2007. We are a cutting-edge accelerator of new writers supporting productions, developmental work, and above all, building playwrights’ lives.

The Realm is at the forefront of a growing movement of providing comprehensive services for playwrights. We just finished our 11^th season, and our innovative, hands-on approach helps make playwriting a viable career, and opens up the field to new talent that otherwise might not be able to sustain themselves or have the time and resources needed for their craft. In addition to advancing our playwrights’ work through dramaturgical and production support, The Realm joyfully provides human support so that our artists can have functional creative lives. Health insurance. Generous stipends. Extra funds to support activities ranging from trips to Africa for research to theater tickets and more. We also believe in keeping tickets affordable to make theater accessible to all.
