The North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1971. Since its’ founding, the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra has consisted of
only professional musicians from Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. It is the only all professional orchestra in North Mississippi. Our regular concert series includes six orchestral concerts in Tupelo and three children's concerts in partnership with the Weil Music Institute at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The vision of the North Mississippi Symphony is "enriching and expanding lives
through music." It is the sole purpose of the NMSO to provide public access to the arts for the states' residents and implementing educational outreach programs.
