Island Volunteer Caregivers

Island Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) has been serving the community of Bainbridge Island for almost 25 years. We provide transportation, in-home services, and life-enriching activities to seniors and those with disabilities, in order to help them live independently, maintain their health and well-being and enjoy their community. In addition, we offer a dynamic Grief Support Program, Medical Notetakers, Caregiver Support Program, a Pet Therapy Program, Flowers from the Heart (arranging and delivering seasonal fresh flower bouquets to participants,) and an extensive Life Enrichment Program that provides a wide array of cultural and community activities from book clubs, the arts, music, recreation, shopping, and lecture programs.

Our participants may also be caretakers needing to take a break, persons in assisted or skilled nursing facilities who can benefit from companionship and others who may be at risk of social isolation or depression.

We provide services currently to over 350 Care Receivers with a volunteer force of 225 fulfilling our many daily requests. All of our services are provided free of charge,
