Sobre Nós

The Georgia SPCA opened its doors in March 2007. We are a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization formed and operated for the purpose of reducing pet overpopulation by rescuing and finding homes for homeless dogs and cats and educating the public about responsible pet ownership. Animals that we rescue and place come primarily from high-kill rate animal control facilities in metro-Atlanta and surrounding counties, as well as through owner surrenders when the owner has exhausted all alternatives and is forced to consider turning their animal over to an animal control facility. When asked by law enforcement, we have also accepted animals rescued from abusive, cruel or negligent situations, subject to space/foster availability.

Since opening, we have saved over 9,000 dogs and cats and placed them in loving homes. All animals are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, disease tested and placed on appropriate preventatives, dewormed and microchipped. We are a no-kill organization, which means that any animal we take in remains with us, either at our shelter or in a foster home, until the right home is found.
