About Emerge Youth Sports
EYS is a not-for-profit social services organization founded in 2011 and dedicated to Youth Development through Sports and Leadership programs. Our Goal is to reach the most marginalized and enable them to become part of a community within which they can thrive, develop and realize their potential and to ensure that no child is left on the sideline just because they couldn’t afford it.
Many Children faces challenges of growing up in communities plagued with poverty and preventable crime. Due to lack of recreational infrastructures, they either spend their times in internet cafes or play on the streets unsupervised, thus involving them in “Negative Recreations” drugs, (violence, sexual promiscuity). Children in Ghana have a very short childhood and this robs them, especially girls of the opportunity of gaining problem solving skills, leadership skills, self-esteem and so much more.
Our programs and services is a valuable resource that brings them together in a safe nurturing place, participating in sports and receiving homework help , mentoring, messages about personal health and wellness, and insight from adult volunteers worldwide and role models from our communities.
We believe to help improve their self-esteem and confidence, leadership skills and other important life skills through our programs and services.
