The ALS Emergency Treatment Fund (ALS-ETF) is focused on the funding and management of expanded access treatment programs (EAP’s) for current sufferers of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
A large proportion of ALS patients do not meet the enrollment criteria for any clinical trials, due to age, years since onset, or symptom progression. ALS not only takes away a person’s control of his or her lifestyle, but it gradually takes away patients’ options for exploring investigational therapeutics.
ALS-ETF intends to conduct scalable EAP’s that would allow a broad spectrum of current ALS patients the chance to participate in the study of the most promising investigational treatments that are in the clinic at the time.
