Sobre Nós

Pennsbury Manor is the reconstructed home of William Penn, the 17th century founder of Pennsylvania. Penn's vision for a uniquely American colony introduced many basic American ideals. Pennsbury's major purpose is educational. Through tours, exhibits and special programs we teach visitors about Penn's contribution and the social, cultural and material life of early Pennsylvania. As the last federally funded reconstruction, it is also significant to the history of historic preservation.

The quiet setting of this 43-acre estate offers a welcome relief from the hustle-and-bustle of modern life where visitors can experience 17 th-century colonial life. Volunteers work in a variety of ways around the site according to their interests and availability. Our greatest need is always for tour guides, but volunteers also demonstrate colonial crafts, tend the historic gardens, care for our animals, and much more.
